It was only a matter of time before I ended up blogging about the wide world of Pinterest! I’m sure by now that the only person reading this who doesn’t know what Pinterest is is my Dad but I will go ahead and give a quick explanation just in case! It is your own little spot in cyberspace where you have your own idea board and you can pull from other sites on the web or other people you are following on Pinterest and pin ideas onto your boards. I have several idea boards but my main ones are recipes, house stuff and ideas for the kids. With the help of Pinterest I was able to bring my ideas for our house together and get lots of things organized before we moved! It was great! I also have become slightly, ahem, majorly, obsessed with the recipe end of Pinterest. So many people I follow pin yummy recipies and I just cannot, I mean can not, help myself. As soon as I see something awesome I HAVE to make it! I have gotten party food recipes, dinner, breakfast, breads, appetizers and lots and lots of desserts made thanks to Pinterest! I swear we have a new dessert in our house every two days! My stomach sure loves it but my thighs…. ummmm, not so much! Good thing we now have a treadmill in our basement! I absolutely love Pinterest and I am sure everyone else that is on it feels the same way! It is super fun!
Anyway, I saw a cool art project that would be easy for me to do with the kids. I am sure I would become even more obsessed with Pinterest if I was a crafty person, but that I am not. However, I am getting a few ideas that seem doable to me! This past weekend I decided to do the project with the kids and they were thrilled! Ella-Ann really enjoys art so I should get more into it for her sake!
We bought three canvases at Hobby Lobby, got home and went to work! First I was supposed to use painter’s tape to write their names on each canvas. Well I did not have painters tape or masking tape so I used some electrical tape I found in Spencer’s tool box! Seemed to work just fine! Once we got the names taped on we went outside and finger painted.
Rane kept asking for a wash rag because he didn’t like the finger paint on his hands!
When they were finished I had them put their hand prints on each side of their name.
I love this picture. They are so funny! Unfortunately I ran out of electrical tape so Pierson’s will get painted this week! We hung them in the playroom and they look fantastic!

Great idea! Thanks for sharing! I think that would be super easy and even MF could do it. Miss seeing you at church and Bible study!
